Try right clicking the file select properties and uncheck read only then click apply if you didn't do that already then open with notepad++ hopefully this helped otherwise if you did all of that it means you prolly have edited wrong line/code or you did not delete old code, type whole new code and replace/ swap out the code you want to change it too
