So yea...This is what's happening.

When I first saw Sword Art Online on Toonami, the first thing I said was this was pretty good being that I am pretty much all of us on here are MMO Gamers. Yea so the first two episodes was alright, then as the weeks progressed, I'm sittin here thinking "Well how the fuck he got that fuckin strong anyway?! How bout some episodes of him doing some quests or actually grinding!?" And at the end this ole cliche ass ending wherein the best damn player in the game is actually the final Boss from Episode 1. And the real fucked up part about it all was the Final Boss dude forgot what the whole purpose was of trapping people in the game and killing them for that matter.

And you know what really annoys me? The end of that episode where Kitiro wakes up all half dead and drained, the first thing he do is try to find a piece of ass that's probably already dead. And what of the Head Boss Man? He didn't just kill himself. Any real villain with that kind of plan would actually have some sort of back up plan right?

All in all, it was another shitty Cartoon. I better not make it rich, I'll make an Anime with real brutal killing in it, none of that "Child Hero" type crap. Grown ass people, ripping body parts, sex, cussing, beer, and and Black jack! YEA! Hookers and Black Jack! I can't wait for it.

But none of that is mature. That's what people think is mature. Sure, something like that can't be rated something for children, but including all of just for the sake of it isn't mature, it's childish. I've certainly read and watched some wonderful things that included all of the above, but it was handled in a tasteful and meaningful manner. Conversely, I've also read series with none or nearly none of them that fit the bill.

I've actually heard most weaboos at least consider Attack on Titan and Sword Art Online shit. Then again, I tend not to keep up with the anime loop too much.

Who cares? I'm pretty sure people/young adults are sick of looking at the same old same Anime with that dull "Good triumphs over Evil" bit. The thing I have in mind is made of "Pure Bad Assery" to the point where at the very end of it, you'll be like...."Damn, that was fuckin amazing".

Plus in my Anime, I have 12 seasons already in mind without the backstories.

"Pure badassery" doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, and I think most people would realize that it's a pretty shallow concept for a series. That's exactly why people like Michael Bay are scrutinized as film directors, even if their work is profitable. Stuff like that is okay in small doses, but a 12 season series would almost certainly be unbearable if there's nothing else notable about it.

Also, there are plenty of anime that don't have "good Vs evil" as a central theme. It's just that most anime that ends up coming to America is shounen and/or action anime, because that seems to be what's most profitable. There are other series like romance or horror ones that are far from that, but it doesn't seem like the sort of stuff you'd care to watch.

I wouldn't say most, but there will always be weaboos or just people in general who consider any anime (or anything at all) to be "shit" and can't appreciate the greatness of it, or just to be on the other side of the coin, because they feel like it. It also depends on the community.

Afterall, there isn't a single anime that fits everyone's tastes. There will always be narrow minded haters for everything.

I think the thing with otaku in general is that they tend to dislike things that are popular, preferring niche series that no one knows about. Watching obscure anime is almost like a status symbol in some groups. If you haven't watched something obscure enough, you're not a real anime fan.

Thing is, a good anime becomes popular if it's good.

Where as an anime from Shōnen Jump (like Naruto, Bleach, etc) automatically becomes popular, due to it being from Shōnen Jump. Not saying they are bad, though alot of people hate them, while alot do genuinely like them.

Of course, there will always be underrated anime aswell, but that's already entering a whole different world, about lack of advertisement and whatnot. Good anime that doesn't really get the recogniztion it deserves because of that.

Anyway, my point is, just because a certain anime is really popular, doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve it. And people will always use anything to pick on any anime, whether it's good or bad. Most of the cases, without even doing a background check on information. I think this thread is the perfect example of that.
