If they're gone, that means they're deleted and out of the database. There is no way to get them back if that happens. First, make sure that they're gone and you just don't have the invisible players bug. If they really are gone, someone probably accessed your account and deleted them. You should change your password so it doesn't happen again, but you will have to remake your characters. The patch had nothing to do with getting rid of your characters.
