I hope Gohan strength is explained in the movie.

Vegeta wears his saiyan armor in the 2008 special and Gohan goes ssj in DBGT

as far as i understood gohan's power its simply that his max unreleased power is so uber that he dont even need to go ssj to beat buu. it were nowhere ever stated in the manga that gohan CANT go ssj anymore, or that going ssj wouldnt increase his power more...its just that he didnt need to go ssj cause he was already stronger than his oponent...

in GT, which is not-canon ofc but they actually had to find a connection with the rest of the story, Gohan simply lost his powers cause of the 10years without training (like it happend in Z between Cell-Buu sagas, Gohan was weaker cause he never trained), so he had to use ssj again.

When gohan was in his ultimate form against super buu ( gotenks absorbed ) he should have gone ssj to avoid the beat down he had , maybe his ultimate form was destroyed and made weaker by lack of training

Here's the twist, the movie takes place a little while after buu is defeated. What lack of training?

Maybe he lost power when he got absorbed.
Maybe its true what Ron said:


It doesn't really matter maybe they will explained in the movie and indeed it was never stated that he couldn't go ssj after his training with old kaioshin.

he cant go ssj anymore the old kaio had told him that when he transformed into potenzial from old kaioshin MODE piccolo asked him in episode when he searched dende why he dont go ssj and gohan said he cant go anymore

Can you find a clip of that? Because if that's true, GT got it wrong too.
