Sasuke, from the word go, has been one of my character favorites from this series. I was never one for the natural prodigy character trope as these characters are usually bogged down with stock personalities, unimpressive feats unbefitting of their character roles, and constantly demonstrated that while they have the ability, technique, cunning and tact, lack of "potential" to exceed beyond their early spurt. Sasuke isn't immune to what I said above but he isn't a character to be permanently stained and discarded into the shadows either. In fact, one of the main attributes that endears me to him happens to be his biggest drawback. While immensely powerful in his own right, what iota of strength Sasuke gains is immediately tested against a big-name of the story. He hasn't had a single power-up in Shippuden that hadn't resulted in him working in a furious, devil-may-care pace in order to achieve victory. Sasuke has been coerced into multiple trials to obtain a level of strength most characters [through aging, deliberation, practice and execution] would never hope receive at the age he's at.
Every one of Sasuke's accomplishments can be dissected and, once analyzed, never fail to demonstrate that he isn't the hot-shot deserving of the 'gary stu' title that the uninformed readily label him with. To name a few...
He hot-shots two chuunin attacking the group recklessly at the beginning of the Mist arc and stops both in their tracks.
To counter this, he is thoroughly embarrassed and, if I'm not mistaken, lets his bladder loose at the sheer idea of Zabuza effortlessly subduing Kakashi and turning his menace onto the three Genin.
He later obtains the Sharigan in the midst of a battle with Haku, who has taken a pittance and is merely toying with the two Genin. Far outclassed, Naruto soon falls behind, while Sasuke's instincts are only further heightened as the fight is prolonged. He then turns his offense onto Naruto, to which Sasuke takes the brunt of the attack, having his body to not only intercept the needles but maneuvering in such a fashion that none of them strike a vital area. Impressive feat, but he still eats the loss.
He decides to display his Sharigan against Rock Lee and subsequently embarrassed by the impressive physical display the hot-spirited Genin puts on. He later mounts an impressive counter-attack on Orochimaru--and receives the Curse Mark for his trouble. He gains strength in-proportionate to his ability and...can't draw upon it without physically taxing himself. For all of his ability he hardly inches a win by some jobber during the semi-finals.
This...role-reversal continues all the way and well into Shippuden. Sasuke gains a tremendous boost and only through the most absurd means picks up a win. Even then, he has to rely on others to sustain his ability to perform. He's far from unstoppable as any ace-Shinobi is capable of inflicting a world of hurt upon him. If Sasuke isn't working hard for the victory then he's being let off. Itachi didn't enter the fight with the intent to kill his brother. Deidara self-destructed--and Sasuke only barely survived through summoning and sacrificing Manda yet was still out of commission for *weeks*. The Raikage thoroughly humiliates Sasuke and later he is only able to pick up a win on Danzo through Karin's keen observation--and then striking her down to deliver the finishing blow. His descent into the darkness and his efforts to destroy Konoha make for a very interesting story.

Because he's perfect~ and can do anything with minimal effort. Such is the way of the Gary Stu.

Didn't Sasuke trained his ass with Orochimaru to surpass Itachi? Yet, the only reason Sasuke didn't suck Itachi's dick was because Itachi let him kill him and eventualy died from overusing Susano'o, so that Sasuke will become Konoha's hero. And improving his Sharingan isn't because he is perfect, it's because that's who Sharingan is supposed to be evolved. Would Sasuke be anything special if he hadn't Sharingan or would Naruto be anything special if he hadn't the Kyiuubi inside him? Those 2 are the main characters.

It doesn't excuse his spotlight-stealing behavior and massive crowds of fanboys/girls.

Actually, I don't like Naruto either. And I don't generally like main characters who are supposed to be something special for that matter. It's usually the every man kind of hero I can get behind as opposed to "The Chosen One." Or someone who steps up from the every man to become the hero, as opposed to characters who are just awesome by birthright.
The fact of the matter is, I haven't seen enough, or rather, any, of Naruto lately to pick on things in particular that I hate about the character as far as recent chapters/episodes go. So I'm just going to have to leave it at, in general, Sasuke doesn't have to work as hard as other characters because he's special, and training just makes him even more special.
Search your feelings, patsoumas1995. You know this to be true.
