Then why do you keep saying "we're" like you're on the team? Contributors represent DBOR and some of them make the whole DBO community look bad. Just saying.

They're apart of the team, but not the developing group.
The way I have setup usergroups for the team is Developers/Contributors/Global Moderators

Hello together, I want to say my opinion about all the stuff, that is beeing discussed here:

First of all, you shouldn't take the Constributer thing to personal, they are all humans who, especially in games, wanna be fame :D No srsly, sometimes you want to see, that peoples aren't that nice, because you search for reasons to hate them. Don't take comments or things to negative..

To the development things....
My goal as programmer and DBO fan was, to have some stuff back, until the DBOR project is finished.
So i made the Channel DBODEV and created the fight system and stuff.
My first release was a little buggy, because I was in hurry. Currently i have most issues fixed and also implemented the drop system, but my channel login is blocked :D

I think DBOR shouldn't be open source, because it is really better to have just one community. I saw an italian website, and it was discussed there, if they gonna open a PServer with the server files, that were released by me or AKcore.
On the one hand site it's nice to see how motivated all the dbo communities are to open a dbo private server; but on the other hand site, it will run into that scenario many of you and also included me are fearing: TO MANY PRIVATE SERVERS

I saw alot of comments that are saying: WHO cares about the number of private servers? it's more important to have DBOR back.
I think -> NO, no you shouldn't be careless about all that. You could think that DBOR will have many players, because their forum is quite big and nice, but you should never underestimate other communities. Whenever someone will be faster than DBOR, many of the players start playing on private servers with those files -> they might think, that they don't want to begin again with DBOR -> less players at DBOR -> less fun :/

I was coding alone, not because i don't like teamwork, but because it just wasn't in my concept to create a own complete servers.
I know it is stupid to hate others work, and it is indeed nice to see so many people working on dbo private servers, but they should know that they also could destroy the dbo community with it. I really hope the release of the old client source won't have huge consequences...

Conclusion:
Trust the DBOR team; trust Dumke and trust all the people arround DBOR team.
If the game starts in 2015, it will... but with greater success, than if the team has to much pressure of time, because the community is to egoism and only sees the release of DBOR(it isn't like that yet(atleast not that strong)).
Open Source might be nice on the one site, but it's dagerous for a game and/or the community(and honestly dbo hasn't infinity active players(many beginners, like me :P), else it wouldn't had come like it is...)

For the start, me as a developer; I trust those guys and support their effort.
Keep your great work up! And if you take new developers make sure you can trust them

Damn did you really do all this by yourself? That shit is impressive. Maybe if you talked to the DBOR team on skype for awhile or something they'd let you join them. As for your youtube account, maybe you got hacked? If not just get a new password sent to your email. Or just start a new channel and reupload the old vids.

I disagree with you on the part where open source community can lead to destruction. Mostly cause I been in many successful open source games that first started out like DBO, only being able to walk around the map etc. Many effort made it possible to do more, open many doors. Now to this day that game is still alive and well with high player base depending on the server. Better server = better higher player base. I don't see open source project as a path to destroying the whole DBO community. Instead I see it as a gateway to Dragonball Z fans joining the DBO community and keeping it alive. wether it be in DBOR or DBOZ,DBOPEEE,DBOvr9000, whatever anyone want to call their server.

Though it's my opinion.

Also on the line about simmy and jocer, Seem like they haven't change. If I were a new person visiting DBOR website the first time and saw a shoutbox message. Spammed full with immature message, I would think the community isn't manage well. Then if I proceed to click on the name to find out they are somehow "Staff/related to the site" I personally would think this community got corrupted admins. Though if DBO came back and "if" I was a new player wanted to play(I never intend to play DBO again). I probably wouldn't give a shit and play the game.

Mhh thanks, I did it myself, because I had to much time
I don't think, that DBOR should take developers they don't really know. The problem is the same that i don't like: whenever someone would release the DBOR files it will be more than less open source...

Mhh, maybe this is an endless debate, because we can't say, if users, who like DBz like DBo since it's an MMO.
e.g. a rl friend of mine really loves Dragonball and it's PS games etc., but he hates to play MMOs. But okey this is the one problem, the other problem is, for example for me:
When a german community and server would open, i maybe would say: "it's nice to have a german community" and switch to it. Also many of the players like me are 18 or younger and insteed of playing on public servers, they open a private server with some friends to cheat or something -> as a result they could loose interest in "normal" servers, because it's to time costly. Something like this happend to WOW communities(and i really guess they had/have the bigger community).

Maybe we can't say what excetly happens, but we could be unlucky and loose the sense of a big community.
> My opinion of course <

Well no one force you people to even join DBOR.
There will be DBODev and I think one more project too.
Still, people will play there where team is better, where game will last longer.
Don't get me wrong, I support every project that is related to our loved game DBO but somehow, I trust Luke and DBOR team better, maybe because I know them better than DBODev team.
Plus about thing that darkingdom said, I don't agree about it.
DBOR Team is one thing, Contributors and Support Members are another.
Still, all of them are PLAYERS. Soo what if people joke in shoutbox, what do you expect?
That everyone act soo serious... It is damn game, if you don't joke or have fun in it, then why the hell you play it. Still, most of time when I am on shoutbox, I see Roku and others contributors that help members, and most of DBOR Members there, help new people.

I agree that we should try and keep the small community that we already have limited to one or two servers. Anymore and you are just spreading out the community too much. Our community is made up of a few thousand and when people start splitting up to join other servers I feel that kills the fun.

The way contributors talk shit and troll people wouldn't bother me at all if there wouldn't be so many wrong things about it.

1st: When "contributor" talks shit towards other people calling them retards, gay, morons and etc it is supposed to be viewed as a joke, harmfull troll.
Most of the ass kisssers take it deep in their mouths saying thing like "Simmy Op troll haha" and etc.
In other words it is ok for the contributors to act like a dicks towards other people and provoke conflicts as their acts are just "harmful jokes".

If regular forum member acts the same way he gets ban, warning and gets eaten by the ass kissers with the comments "Another retard uprise hater, Grow up retard" as if this person would hate uprise only because of the events in the old DBO game, but not.. surely not because they been acting like a dicks towards him on the DBOR forums nowadays. :)

2nd (Worst) : Contributors discourage people from contributing. Anyone should be free to share their thoughts and ideas right? Well usualy when someone share their thoughts on DBOR forums with ideas what would they love to see in DBOR contributors (and most of the ass kisssers) come in and give them construct criticism that usually consists only of words like "U moron. Another retard. Eat shit. Stupid idea. Go f* urself". And the most retard shit ever :" We don't have game yet. Let them work on game first. FU" like suggestions and ideas could harm the project.
They act like they are the only ones with the right to contribute for the project though everyone knows that the only Uprise member who contributed enough was Jocer while the others just.. are little dicks with a nice title.

I am happy about the success and popularity that DBOR gained. But with the things that I've mentioned above my dream about united community and the whole " game by community for community" concept is falling apart. People who are doing their job, the developers and most of the contributors are trust worthy and good people but the way some people act just ruins the whole image. It is just wrong.

The irony is that most of the trouble makers on DBOR forums used to call DBOCOM corrupt community.
Profesionals or not people should care about their reputation as it is hard to build good name and it is easy to ruin one. :)
