I'm having this problem too, tried using launcher 0416, tried the launcher patched to latest etc. but when I start the game it plays the intro videos and then crashes just as it loads the login screen, I get the music but picture is crashed every time.
win 8 x64, 6GB Ram, I3 3110M.
their latest update allows u to play dbo on windows 8 ._. launcher 0416 try to click one of the buttons on the side of your launcher. 1 installs anything missing. 1 is just in game options
Have tried fully updated launcher, pressed the button on the side to check everything is there and it seems to be fine. but still, even after multiple uninstall, restart and installs, it still happens, goes through logo vids and then freezes leaving me with menu music. just wanted to point out too that I have not installed the English patch just yet. had a look at the game options but couldn't make heads or tails of it being in Taiwanese apart from screen res. any ideas?
I don't know if that's a problem with Windows 8 or not. Try running it in Windows 7 compatibility mode. If it still doesn't work then it's probably not a problem with the OS itself but something else on your computer.
