To be honest, if they launch a nuke at us and they have any brains, DC isn't their target. They drop 1 nuke on or near yellowstone and the whole continent will be buried in ash.
But I would assume America has a few hidden secrets that will stop a missle getting to its shores , most major country's have this kind of thing , there's a lot people don't know I guess

If nuclear weapons were on the market, you do realize that the U.S. would have been nuked by Iran by now if nuclear weapons could be found on the market.. Maybe some of the materials for a nuke can be found but, i doubt it.. (sorry for the poor english, i'm german so get use to it)

They probably already thought of it. Use the terrain, one of the most basic rules of warfare. The timebomb about to detonate under yellowstone is no secret.

They would destroy the continent along with sending tons of ash into the atmosphere and possibly blocking out the sun.. I would also like to know if the radioactivity from a nuke would make the ash from the supervolcano radioactive.. If that is a yes then, Enjoy the nuclear winter (if anyone is left in North America)
