I've been a Metal Gear fan for about 3 years now. Love the games and the story because I feel that in a way, they relate to the real world. I'm going to run down the story here for those who know nothing about the series, then I'll get to the point.
After the events of WW2, the 3 super-powers, USA, Russia and China all accumulated a sum of money that amassed from the war. This money would be known as the "Philosopher's Legacy". The Philosopher's, as they were called post WW2 up until sometime around 1964, were a group of people who hid this money in a underground vault. Colonel Volgin found this money and used it to establish a fortress in Russia that rivaled the current Governmental power at that time called Groznyj Grad. Using some of the money, Volgin established laborities and scientists to work on a project that could propel itself and move around(manned)and launch a nuke anywhere at anytime. This idea came from someone called Colonel Granin, whom Volgin killed.
The legendary "Hero" of WW2 known as "The Boss" was the daughter of one of the original founders of the Philosophers. The CIA had a mission for her, infiltrate groznyj grad and find the Legacy(money). Her mission was to defect to the Soviets and as a welcoming gift, "stole" a Davey Crockett and gave it to Volgin as a way to show her loyalty. Volgin fired the nuke at a laboratory, where a man was working on this machine that could launch a nuke. John, code named Naked Snake was sent in to infiltrate and destroy Volgin, The Boss and her Cobra Unit and to obtain the Legacy as a backup plan. After Snake killed The Boss and the others, he found out he was being used. His commander, Major Zero and others who backed him on radio all founded "The Patriots", also referred to as "The La-Li-Lu-Le-Lo". With their newly established CIA unit called "Foxhound" they would do sneaking solo missions to sabatage other entities that would get in the way. Snake later quit, after he became the "Father" of 2 clones. The project was called the "Les Enfants Terribles". One child retained the dominate genes and the other retained the reccessive genes of Snake. The point of the Project was to carry on the missions that the Patriots would establish, to make sure they have total information and economy control of the world. They would bribe Politicians to stay in power, this would be the "Shadow Government".
With Snake, later known as "Big Boss" and "the greatest soldier of the 20th century" establishing his own "Army without Borders", later known as Outer Heaven, this fortress would be the "Haven" for Soldiers who were used by politicians and the Patriots. In the 90s, The Patriots(Foxhound)sent in "Solid Snake"(the son with the recessive genes)to elimante Big Boss for having his own Deterant created. But at this time, Big Boss himself was also commander of Foxhound, so he sent Solid Snake into his own fortress to obtain false info, however he found out too much and Big Boss was forced to fight with Solid Snake. Snake won. The Patriots continued to total control of politics and influence in wars and the economy. War became the economy itself, thanks to The Patriots. In 2014, Only one person of The Patriots remain. Solid Snake, now a victim of rapid aging(this was to be used on the twins incase they turned against The Patriots, which they did)took them on. And of course won, with not many months himself left to live.
The Patriots used total control through the use of "nanomachines" - a protein aggregate resembling the structure of a man-made motor using biomolecules such as DNA, proteins, and resins as parts, this nanomachines were also be abled to be controlled, all soldiers were injected with them. That's how The Patriots had control of war and information. Now on to the point.
I didn't expect the above to be so long.
TL;DR: In my opinion, "The Patriots" represent the Bankers. The Bankers basically control the economy because they have all the money. Who're the Bankers? I'm not talking about your average banker at Bank One or anything. I'm talking about the people who own mega corporation and pay the media to keep quiet about certain things. Being rich with millions of dollars, you will of course have the power and the power of persuasion. the "nanomachines" is the banking system that they control, as far as establishing rules on currency and such. In 1918, the Federal Reserve was created. The Bankers hi-jacked this system and use debt as a means to control the people. It goes deeper then this. What I have to say is take a look at Alan Greenspan, where he admits that the Federal Reserve isn't run by the President OR the US Government.
Doesn't the Federal Reserve control the US currency? Yes.
I say yes. I'm 100% sure.
I also do believe in the illuminati. I don't believe in all the satanic music ****. And I also believe in not really giving a ** about it. Cause who cares? It's not like the illuminati is making some kind of move any time soon that will effect you. So what if a group of people rule the world and we are all brainwashed? So what if a group of people has lots of money and you don't. Life has been **** for ages and it's not going to change unless you make something good of it. Like a wise rapper once said Just live your life. Do whatever you want.Be whatever you want. I'm a ****ing table. ~ OFWGKTADGAF.

Well, I understand the meaning about just enjoying life. But to live with the reality that there are a group of people who pull the strings while we sit here and enjoy ourselves is nerve-wrecking. I mean really. People are so selfish as to not pay any mind to things so long as they are enjoying themselves. That's sad, pathetic and weak.
I disagree. That's just how humans are. We're all selfish and don't give a **** about that(IE) lots of people die everyday cause of (IE) starvation. You can reply and tell me that you DO care, but what do you really do about it? You could donate money, but we all know that's just a scam. And it's not like YOU pay any attention to things?
Okay, you may have noticed that mankind is ruled by a group of people , but it's not like you can do anything about it. If you were rich and worked hard for your money and was enjoying your life to the max, do you think you would really just stop it all and try finding a solution to stop this (lE) illuminati (just an example, not saying it actually does exist). Even if you would find a solution. You would probably get killed and your life would be ruined. Or you would get an offer which you can't refuse.

I actually agree with you, about the false accusations on Muslims. It just happens to be that the popular opinion has to be that Muslims are all bad so that we can go to the Middle East and bomb the hell out of them for resources and other reasons, which I won't get into. Point being, just because we are slowly walking to the end of the tunnel doens't mean that we should continue to.
I guess it just sucks to know that people with all the money are having fun taking adventage of the system while we are here living your average, boring life full of misery and hard work.
