I managed 5 seconds before I hit CTRL+W.
Why does the DB community find it so hard to put effort into things?

It's like every kid with Windows Movie Maker thinks they can make their own series by putting subtitles to footage :I

It matters a lot.
You can use Movie Maker, but still put effort into it.
Voice Actors, mods that remove things such as NPC names to make it look more natural.

All hating aside, let me give some tips.

The biggest step is immersion. Making the watcher feel like they're there. That's what ALL TV shows need to master before anything else.
Names above heads, random people in the background jumping around and/or killing mobs, popups... these break immersion and ruin the finished video.
Anything that reminds or hints to the viewer that what they're watching wasn't real, such as seeing a boomstick or a crew member in a Drama or animation/colour errors in a cartoon.

Second, mostly for fan-videos, subtitles alone are a BIG mistake. Nothing breaks immersion more than having to pause the video to read the text so as not to miss anything in the video itself.
I think the only time you can get away with it is if the rest of the video makes up for it.
Take this for example;

Third, music. You can be forgiven for using the OST from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball GT as it's part of the same series (God forbid you use the music used in the Dub... that technocrap was rubbish, no emotion put into it) so this step should be ultra easy.
Situational music, broski. Sad situation doesn't mean sad music. Pick something that pulls the right strings. You don't want Doggy Ran Away music when you should have Bobby Just Died music.

Fourth, voice. A big key to immersing the viewer in your world. Making it believable with good voice acting. The main reason just text alone fails. There are huge internet communities dedicated to such jobs, even I'm a voice actor on some of those sites. Need to hook up with voice actors, send me a PM.

If you can't follow those 4 steps you shouldn't even bother trying. You might sit there and think your finished work is cool, but anyone with a working brain knows that the creator can NEVER critique his own work.
He'll either know all the things wrong with it and feel its bad or he'll be so in love with it that he refuses to acknowledged its flaws.

Defending has nothing to do with age, broski.
Insulting people without understanding what an insult is does have a lot to do with age.
