Hi everyone, does anyone know why this keeps happening? I download something on the launcher, I get up to around 170MBs and it has this pop up and closes the launcher. I have to start the download again

That's a problem from your internet. It means that the connection got interrupted because of something, and then the download did too... I think...

Check your internet connection while you're downloading things for the launcher.

Use SimplePatcher

try to shut down/turn off your antivirus while you updating...
