Hi guys, I would like to propose a wonderful task that may save this game

Try for all your means to get the propper files so DBO can become a private server. I surtenly will do my best to try to make it happend.

This game its doom to fail, I think it will be the shortes MMORPG I have seen and I have played Rappelz, Perfect World, Battle of inmortals (BOI may be the worst but its holding on) Runes of magic, and others not very importants, and the only thing that keeps me checking my char in DBO, its only cuz its Dragon Ball, and Im super fan (just like you).
Any way, I hope someone or someones, can make the dream come true, DBO PRIBATE SERVER,

Im pretty confident we, the fans, we can balanced classes way much better than this suckers from NTL and wassabi. Bunch of ******s.

Have fun and dont losse the faith, besides at this rythm this game only got like 2 years of life tops.

This isn't like Runescape or WoW, Private servers will be near impossible to setup, also the game would be horrible if a single person ran it.

Also those games are horrid.

The problem is support. Many features of the game were broken to begin with, so it's not like emulating Star Wars Galaxies (They're doing pretty well so far). What version would you choose to emulate first off?

Examples are merely there for someone to relate too, if i put games you didn't know existed, how would you be able to relate?

WoW and Runescape also have some of the largest private servers out there also, so it's a good example.

How are you planning on getting the server files? fairly sure none of those have been leaked.

Dumke is right it is next to impossible to get the server file unless you somehow keylog one of the server computer and directly download it off.

Other then that It's next to impossible.

... Well it depends on if you're willing to start over again and balance the game yourself.

Otherwise you already have most of the stuff to run the game, you just have to emulate the client/server

SWGEmu didn't have all of the database info, but using the vanilla version (which we should be able to get easily) they were able to make any incarnation of the game, and its the same in a case with game as semi-broke as DBO has been from the beginning balance-wise. I doubt very many people at all (if any) you're likely to find possess the skills to start such a project let alone finish it.

Also the copyright issues, have you seen the fines and DCMAS dropped on many private servers?
they're pretty painful, and if you say that NTL and wasabii, are money hungry, that thing is going to last a week max.

Depends on where you live and how you go about it. Legally if you're not selling it to people or offering any kind of pay service, they can't really do anything because if you bought the software that's included in the license.
