It's a trick. You can't sell DBs in the AH, let alone give DBs to other players. They bind. The item you saw is simply just a crafting item, with really no purpose.
There is a orange ball with no stars in the AH. Should I buy it fur a DB? Or is it a trick!
Not a trick. When you reach 7 Tier 2 Dragonballs and another one drops, it will be a blank orange ball. That ball can be used for crafting items/food/armor/weapons.
