As the title suggests, these are basic things new users should do before posting or creating threads. While most people will look at this and say these things are obvious, if you look right now you can see a majority of people doing the exact opposite. So I've decided to toss this up as a quick little guide on the dos and don'ts of our dear forum. Well, here we go:

1) Do not flame other members! While you may be being completely sarcastic, please remember that this is the interwebz -where it's really hard for some people to understand sarcasm- and that some people may still find it offensive.

2) USE DA SEARCH FUNCTION!!! Seriously -_-; You have no idea how many threads ask about the same...exact...thing.....ugh. If you can't find your issue/question, then feel free to create a new thread.

3) Requests for Builds. While I don't see the point in it, here are a few tips for anyone requesting a build: include the version you play -as changes may have to be made accordingly-, describe whether you'd like a PvP or PvE oriented build, describe what kind of player you wish to be (i.e Energy Fighter vs Physical Fighter). Also, please do not beg for "The Best PvP Build" because such a thing does not exist.

4) Please remember to keep your posts on topic with the thread. Shouldn't have to explain this one that much.

5) Post your thread where it belongs!! Seriously, it gets a tad annoying having to go through 15+ unrelated topics so I can find the ones related to that section of the forum.

6) Do not spam the Report button

So yeah, just follow these rules or whatever.

People are stupid, they don't read beyond the Post New Thread button.

Tips before posting?


Ain't that wrong somehow? Shouldn't it be "tips for before posting", "Read before posting" or "Tips for posting"... (not that my grammar is excellent but, that kind of catch my curiosity)

And don't you think you are been quite forceful since you are not a mod? If there are people who won't even read the mods indications, who would ever read this?

To begin with, people are not stupid, they just really don't care as long as their problems are solved. What you posted is pure common sense, if they are not doing it, then they just don't want to and probably won't, worst, i'm almost certain they didn't even read one post before making their own.

Can't stop the ignorant. They choose to be stupid. Therefor they choose to get abused by veteran players. Your threads intentions mean well and thank you for trying to help. But your singing for the deaf.

I wasn't trying to force people into doing these things. That's why I chose "tips" as opposed to something else. Also, whether I'm a mod or not shouldn't matter; I still have the right to be as concerned as anyone else and wish to help the forums

if its not spammed on the forums, 5 minutes later when theres no reply they spam the chat

You missed the point of my post, if you are an user that doesn't even read what mods write... would you go out of your way to read what some random user post?

Try and forget that is your thread and you want to defend it, and put yourself in that situation.

And, could it be "Tips: Before posting", that would make more sense

If that's the case, then why does anyone bother posting anything?? This wasn't designed towards the people who will use the forum solely to figure out how to download the game and then never get on again.

I actually searched it so I could be sure, and tips before posting is a perfectly acceptable grammatical phrase ^^

That doesn't even make any sense... most people, if not all, that would do things like what you describe made an account just to randomly drop and and ask something. Who, that could ever do any of that, would ever read this post and take it into account...

Seriously, try and forget this is your post, even the mods told you not to play music for the deaf.

If people are not willing to read the rules of this site - which is almost everything you said up above, then they will certainly not read this thread.
