I don't think that there is a way to see played time..
Well he was giving the only way for him to work out how long he has played the game for. Its not hard to get a calculator. There is no way for you to check how long you played apart from that way. Hopefully they will add in a feature that says your play time on your character in the log in screen...but who knows.

If you spend Token Points then everything will be messed up..Come to your senses....Doh....That's the worst way to calculate time...It's not doable !

That is assuming he spent token points. It might be the "worst" way but it is the only way, unless he would have physically recorded the time he starts playing and finishes playing each day there would be no other way for him to know his playtime.
