Hi im new and using the Taiwanese client 1.51.54
and the client downloads the info (as far as i am aware) and then seems to patch fine but then starts to download more information and does not patch after that, is this a common problem and could someone please point me in the right direction to resolve the problem

just found it is downloading dbo.exe.zip i think and whenever i start up the client i am told it is a virus (so i ignore it :S) but it still does not work

The way it sounds is that it keeps patching continuously, and the reason for that is unknown to me. What I do is run as administrator and it seems to prevent it from patching over and over again.
