Could be that Goku is defeated, maybe in a coma or near death, that it could be a major plot point for the movie, as the others try and fend off the beings until Goku's able to fight agian. With Goku down it'll give the other characters a reason to fight in the spot light, like Piccolo or Krillin, hah even yamcha lolz. Then maybe Goku might get Zenkai (Yeah that hasn't been used in a while, but could fit.) and he'll get enough power to combat those guys and beat them after the others tried.

It could be, it's the only thing that could make mentioning Goku being beat anything worth while, other wise it's just like the other movies.

and then they use the dragon balls to bring back goku coz he is alive at the end of dbz

"The God Of Destruction" Bills was on King Kai's planet on the trailer,so was Goku so he probably gone to visit him there and challenge him & Goku agreed.
We see Goku SSJ fight vs him and somewhere we see Goku damage no SSJ and Bills standing outside earth looking at each other so maybe he won't die. Also how can he breathe in space?! ._.

If Pilaf and the others in that movie, and if this movie is cannon, then this just cleared up 2 plot holes in GT. I'm a ware there's a lot more in that series. But this cleared up the whole Gohan Ssj and Pilaf Mai and Shu being alive.
