I was under the assumption anyone reading that would sense the sarcasm. Since I'm guessing you couldn't, I know that Santa isn't real. Saint Nicholas --of whom every gift-giving winter holiday figure is derived from-- died long ago. Guess I should've included /sarcasm or something at the end of my statement. /sarcasm

They're more recent than the older packs. Pretty sure these are from 2009 or something. I had a friend who liked playing with them a for a while and had recently got into the hobby, so I was trying to build a deck to play him. I've actually got a collection of all of the holofoil rare cards from the first booster packs (Jungle/Fossil) in near-mint condition, including the Charizard. These days, I tend to enjoy collecting toys and comic books more, and I'd wager it has something to do with the thrill of the hunt -- trying to track down exactly what you're looking for and not digging through piles and piles of undesirable cards. It's good fun to hit up a comic shop every time I go on vacation in the hopes of finding the back issues I'm looking for. Spending money on things I don't like with no way of reselling them? Not so much.

If you have one of
these they used to be worth a pretty penny. They're pretty much a requirement for running a certain type of an archetype deck --you can tell if a card belongs to that archetype because it ends with the Koa'ki Meiru bit-- and people try to get as many as their decks can hold. Ofc it's been awhile since I really messed with the game, so things have probably changed a bit by now.
