He's a side character from the main series and a main character in GT, as you say.
Either way, to have a someone related to a main character is rather frowned upon.

And this includes characters that appear in GT, because while they are non-cannon they are indeed main characters.

I would't, because to most people that can be used as an excuse for various things.
It's nothing personal, it just became a stigma when every kid and his mother made their characters super uber strong and might lose a fight but will always triumph over the evil in the end because he's Goku's great great great great great great great Grandson.

While it is a matter of personal opinion, we in the "fan fiction" (using the term loosely) business frown upon it as its normally a sign that things are about to get really really stupid.

I mean your character isn't bad, but that single part puts me off of him just enough...
Perhaps he was trained by Uub or a relative of Uub?
That would be more acceptable, as many of the characters started or restarted various schools.

What won't be acceptable is Goku training someone, as he never started a school, or Vegeta "liking someone enough to give them personal training" (seriously, seen that one way too many times...).
While its cool and we all want our characters to be trained by Mr Save The World himself, it just doesn't work in a lore sense.

Actually, him being related to Uub or not changes nothing about his story. In the beginning, he was just Tapion's son from an apocalyptic future that went back in time to avoid it. The reasons I chose to add Uub to it are the following:

1) He's black; I would have liked to see a black character in DBZ, I don't count GT.
2) Most of the time, when you start a spin-off, there's at least one character related to someone of the previous series.
3) Since I don't count GT, I don't count Uub's power level in those series.
4) The biggest reason is my younger brother, who made a MA named Jockoo and a GM called Ultimatejockoo. I wanted to integrate them in the story, so I had to do something to bring those 2 together (say if you don't get it).

And I didn't even tell the story or his abilities yet, I'm too lazy for the moment lol.

If there's no difference then make it so he was in the same tribe as Uub.
Trust me, just being related to a character from the series is enough to make people dislike a character and it leaves the realm of "Original Character" and becomes a "Fan Character".

Let's say it like this then; for me he's still the same guy from the future (mother unknown...) so an OC, but if I would make a series I think that there's not other choice than make him a "fan character" like you said.

Btw I like your char, the only flaw is that she's a Saiyan (yes even if she's an android based on a Saiyan, she's technically still a Saiyan) and I prefered things like this:http://www.rmkworld.net/ELSEWHERE/elsewhere.htm even if my char is half alien. It's really too bad he stopped.

Yeah, if thats one thing I accept it's that she's ANOTHER saiyan OC. However I did think about this during her creation, she was originally going to be an Android, then a Majin, but then I settled on a Saiyan, as this would be the easiest for the sake of her backstory.
And while it is the SSJ form, for her all it really does it makes her look like one. Her actual transformation that she has control over and makes her stronger would be her Absorbing transformation, which is mostly original :V

I gaurentee you, most of the ones who dislike her or call her unoriginal JUST because she's a Saiyan are the immature kids who say "I'm just like Vegeta/Goku/Gohan because <silly reason>".

Side Note: Triple has NO idea what Saiyans are, nor does she think that she's any different to a human other than the tail.

Well I've been surprised before...

Not about Uub now, I was thinking to put some players into it. Three of my permanent ones are TrunksX2, Solidsaiyan and Zolo. Trunks' char will be the current 18 year old heir of Capsule Corp, Zolo would be the world best swordsman and Solidsaiyan would be a very powerful character who wished for ssj and that nobody else could pronounce that wish. Tagi (Trunks) would be Spykion's best friend besides a Namek.
