If we made our own stuff up based on what we think should be correct, it would make others that think the official dub or the original is the correct version upset.

But there is no mistake in which of the two is the correct one. The original is and always be the correct terminology, because that's Toriyama's terminology. Dragon Ball originates from Japan, not from FUNimation.

No, we wouldn't have anything in Japanese. It's an English patch, of course.

I never said I wanted the names in Japanese. I said that I would prefer the original names, in English of course.

Transliterations of the Japanese names would work, but that would be the same has using the dub names, since they're pretty close, but they'd be less comprehensible to people who don't understand how to read Japanese transliterated into English.

Kaioshin = Supreme Kai, Tenshinhan = Tien, Genki Dama = Spirit Bomb, Kienzan = Destructo Disk, Tri Beam = Kikoho, etc, etc. Almost all the techniques are different. Heck, even FUNi is using the correct names in Kai.

In my opinion, the dub version of the names is the best way to go, because that's what the majority of the people will know and go by. We should be aiming at the bigger crowd.

Don't forget that just because it's in English doesn't mean that everyone is from USA and grew up with the FUNi dub. There are also lots of people from other places that grew up with their own dub. I believe that the names that should be used are the canon terms, not the dub terms.
