Okay, can't find a thread on this topic so going to make one.

So far everything works fine. I have an account, I have the client installed, I have it patched, and I have the English patch in. The problem I have is that whenever I click "Start" from the patcher it closes and the game never opens. I was wondering if anyone has a solution to this problem.

do u run as admin?

yes. I have it running as admin on compability mode and I am right clicking and running it that way. Have it set to Windows XP SP2 after reading that was what some people had set it at. But also tried Vista SP2 and basic Windows 7

whats your system locale?

United States...but the method for changing seemed to be based on installation...something I was able to do. I can change it to China (Taiwan) if necessary and try that.

mine is always in taiwan and works fine

okay changed local and location to Taiwan and still the same problem.

does the client come up?

The patcher does yes. When I click "start" to begin the actual game client the patcher disappears (not uncommon or odd) but the game it self never starts up or even tried starting up.

well I think I found it, but task manager won't let me shut down AVG....which is odd as I just gave myself full control over it

I guess the question now is what server are most of the TW players on that speak Enlgish?

Did you turn off the AVG virus thing?
