curious do we need to open right ports for this? if so what are they, looked about didnt see anything maybe some one else knows better x3 getting lag and my friends not curious if its just me my isp or maybe ports so trying to knock things down one at a time.

I think more to do with the fact the server is on the other side of planet instead of ports...
