Hey Dante i had the same error and i fixed it ... i don't know how.... but i had to make new acc cuz the first wasn't activated. You have 30 mins to activate it. Than when patching the game you have to turn OFF antivirus program. And when you do all that don't start the game yet , go and patch it with Enlgish Patch...... When you do all of this it will work 99%

My problem seemed to stem from my game not fully updating. It always stopped at the ".41" version and not the ".44", even when ran as an administrator. I ended up having to redownload the game and then install it again, which caused me to miss the character creation pre-event. -.-
