As Rozeros Said if you have it on one page every time you go to look at a post or another part of the site it well cause the chat to refresh now if you had two tabs it would refresh and you can talk at the same time.

Either way, yeah, you can just have the chat open in another window. So what's stopping you people from being on the chat? It's there for a reason people! I fought long and hard to get that thing on the site!

well of course but im just basing it on because he wants to make chat more popular and i would think that this would be a way the chat room would become more popular

I wasn't attempting to make the chat more popular, I seriously wanted to know why people didn't use it. =\

If I had a guild, I'd have a guild rep in there nearly all the time, if only because people often want to get into guilds.

Kind of a truth there, but yet, at a time, if the layout was user-friendly, the chat would be easily simplified.

See that Zango chat sometimes on those anime site things? It's a small box on the side of the site that is small, yet effective for chatting.

It's not the best for web design, I agree, though.
