Experience wise - yes its smart
Time wise - no its not smart

You'll 'waste' a lot of time doing TMQ's with limited experience outcome, doing rep quests and normal quests you'll level up faster - the time saved you can spend grinding or getting money through other means. However not doing TMQ's means you won't get those excellents which potentially get you a lot of money aswell.
There's class to consider, some classes get groups easier then others. There's playingtime to consider, at some times there just aren't a lot of TMQ groups going, you'd end up waiting 4 hours for maybe 1 TMQ.

And yes, its unlikely anyone would grind his way to 55, but in essence its maybe the most beneficial way xD In practice... not so much.

For me, i play when i'm awake, i sell when i'm asleep. When i play depending on whether there's a lot of groups or a guildrun i do dungeons and TMQ's other times i do quests/rep quests or even pure grinding. The latter comes in especially for dragonballs, i mean i did get a trackrecord of 1 dragonball every half hour for near 4~5 hours straight :P (As a result i was so fed up with dragonballs i didn't try at all the weekend after XD)

danjal i dont know about you but i am not in a hurry to get lvl 55.its about enjoying the game, not playing it like crazy all day long.

+ zenny from so many tmqs is great,+ equipment which you can use,and at least two legendery sets,+ easy exp.I think thats better then spend all of your time spending zenny on rep quests and grinding all day.

But everyone has their way.

venommourne - thats my point exactly....
You're saying your way is the ideal way to go, i'm saying it depends on your goals, if you wanna level fast then its one thing if you wanna take your time then its the other and some choose to go midway doing some of both as not to get too bored of the grind.

I mean i can see how doing TMQ's for a long time can be beneficial, however personally after doing 5~10 TMQ's i'm fed up with them and prolly won't do them for a couple days XD On top that i can get plenty of zeni through other means, for instance working on crafting or such.

Taking that on top of the fact that *I* have enough zeni for whatever i need, spending some on rep quests doesn't hurt me. Just tell me, what are you collecting all that zeni for? You only need so much on potions and repairs and since you're getting the majority of your gear through TMQ's you don't spend money on that either. Unless you're one of those that buys a new 'upgrade' every half a day spending thousands on that :P

So yea, for me its not a race to lv55, i take my time and do a bit of everything to enjoy myself the most. Doing only TMQ's would bore me, doing only rep quests would bore me, doing only senseless grinding would bore me. So i interchange it a bit, and do a bit of everything =)

Just a little update.I tested it.If you do TMQ since lvl 24-30 and nothing but tmq,you will have enough quests to get lvl 36 without repeatables and any kind of grinding.

yeah, but I agree with venom, I dont like to grind grind grind, for me time machine is the best thing this game has, and I like to go.

I got 4kk doing this , but from 43 to 51 I spent it all on rep quests, doing those quests in a party is really expensive, fast, but expensive.I still have 2kk, but I don wanna end up without money to buy gears so I'm doing tmq's Legends.
