It's a TV special, not a show, based entirely on the games, set to air October 2nd. It honestly looks more entertaining than the current Pokemon anime, but I don't think it really has anything on the Black and White promotional animation. I feel like this sort of thing is what Pokemon really needs to have a decent anime.

If only Pokemon Special were the anime...

Yay, another special where Ash isn't the protagonist. Though I always wish for the Pkmn anime that they'd change the protagonist kinda like what Yu-gi-oh does

I would be usualy opposed to watching this. Due to feeling I'm too old for it... But for nostalgia puposes, I may have to watch it.

2nd gen was the frist pokemon game I owned. But always loved 1st gen.

And yea, I agree they should of changed the protag everytime a new gen came out.

To be honest, I'd rather just the entire idea of the Pokemon anime as-is get scrapped in favor of something more in-line with the promotional animation for Black and White. It's one of those series I think could really benefit from being just a pinch "darker and edgier". While its target audience is, of course, the pre-teens, it's obvious that the people who seriously play Pokemon are mostly older. I mean, I'm an original generation fan. I started when I was three, meaning I'm one of the youngest and I'm currently 17. Of course, I'm sure the anime is a good way to introduce the young ones to a lifelong addiction, but there's nothing wrong with having something more seriously toned for older fans either.

Also, shame on Red for choosing Charmander instead of Bulbasaur.

Pretty much what turned me away. ^

Although I did find it odd that Red got a Bulbasuar, while Green had a Charmander in the manga. Always felt it should have been swapped to match the color pallet.

Oh, I'm not complaining because Red had a Bulbasaur in the Adventures manga.

I'm complaining because Bulbasaur is the best starter.

True, but mostly the manga bit that annoyed me.

But Charmander was defiantly the favorite among starters, That just might be while he has a Charmander.
