before you answer i already got the anakin is really annoying and whinning and Jar Jar but besides that i don't hate the prequels. the story is not as good but i thought the lightsaber clashes were better and the music was pretty awesome. though characters were way better in the original trilogy. i can watch either but people dump hate on the prequels like its justin biebers stuff.

From a critical perspective, they're just worse films overall. Episode I has a 57% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and Episode II has 67%. That's not particularly bad, much better than a lot of summer movies, but episodes IV and V have 94% and 97% respectively.

Now, I haven't watched the Star Wars films in a long time, and I probably won't touch them again unless someone decides to release versions of them that have absolutely no changes from their original theatrical presentations, but I'd say this probably has something to do with why the fandom hates them.

Despite that, Revenge of the Sith has 80% on Rotten Tomatoes -- it's just grouped with Episodes I and II because those movies were also prequels.

I didnt really like Episode I, Episode II wasn't too bad but i sleep through it anytime it comes on Spike but Episode III is one of my favorites but they are nothing like the Originals. Overall, i think ppl dont like the prequels for the same reason why shows lose credibility and that is when someone makes another version of it. Dragonball Evolution is a perfect example. Hope i made sense

Dragonball Evolution isn't exactly a good comparison. That's an new adaptation of a previously established series. This is probably best compared to the latest Indiana Jones film. It's another installment that's quite different from the original trilogy. A lot of people might dislike it for that reason and that reason alone.

Because George Lucas hates his fans, which is why he says Guido shot first, when we all know Han did.
