Sorry to say i see too much Swordsman Guides and they don't cut it. I thought it would be a great idea for me to make one with inputs from great swordsman that i know.
Note - This Guide will not make you the best Swordsman in the game but, it can get you on the right track.
Okay, The basic job of a Swordsman is to deal as much damage as possible fast as you can. Swordsman are known for their High Damage which makes them one of the best DPS in the game.
Three Stats every Swordsman should stack up
- Dex
- Properties
- Cooldown
I hope everyone know what those Stats do but if not here i'll tell you.
Dex increases dodge, physical attack, crit rate and resistance
Properties increases your Attributes which increases your defense and damage on your opponents.
Cooldown decreases the cooldown of all your skills which makes your skills spammable.
Now, I also here "What Dragon Buffs should i get" "What should i wish for next i am a Swordsman"
All you really need are those 6 wishes but, i wouldn't do it in that order.
Ssj > HTB2 > Dex > Focus > Con > Strength.
Ssj - Increases hit rate, dodge, running/attack speed.
HTB2 - Deals alot of damage and a extra skill against the oppposing side.
Dex - Increases dex by 20%
Focus - Increases focus by 20%
Con - Increases con by 20%
Strength - Increases Attack by 20%
Now.
Let's Talk about Gearing up.
Note - Gear is expensive and Most Players Gear up seriously when they reach the Game's Level Cap so, its best not to waste all your money on low level gear.
You always need different sets of gear. Not just 1 set. If you do you will FAIL HARD!.
Their are two different types of damage in the game. Energy and Melee.
Both come with different Types of Armor.
For Example : TMQ7 gear Melee Set - 695m and 116e but, on a Energy Set it will be reversed. When upgraded the Set with 695 will be upgraded more the other defense.
Ok so, the main run down of what stat you stack is pretty simple.
Gear # 1
Jacket - Dex
Pants - Con
Boots - Dex
Gear # 2
Jacket - LP%
Pants - LP%
Boots - Dex
Gear # 3
Jacket - Con
Pants - Con
Boots - Con
But this can and should change going against other classes.
If you are a Swordsman at level 58 or higher i suggest using TMQ7 gear because of the high defense and high stats.
So, using TMQ7 gear use
-28 Dex (Can't get max stats? Use 25 or Higher
-28 Con (Can't get max stats? Use 25 or higher)
-22% LP Regen (Can't get max stats? Use 20% or Higher)
For Example, Going against a Turtle or Plan on running fast in Scramble find a high percentage of Running Speed which you can only get on your boots unfortunately.
Going against a Fighter with alot of Dodge? Find yourself a high number of Focus for your pants to replace con. The more focus added will give you a better chance to hit the Fighter you'll have less LP but, have a better chance of hitting him.
Accesories are a big part of Gearing up.
Accessories are what can counter the other classes special skills or increases your stats.
Good Accessories to have on a regular base.
Earrings - Dex/Prop/CD Necklace - Varies on opponent. Rings - Con/ CC prop set
The List is Simple
- Resistance (100 of higher)
- Success Rate (225 or higher)
- Anti bleed (58% or higher)
- Anti Candy (57% or higher)
- Dex ( 28 or higher)
- Props ( 11 or higher)
- Cooldown (23 or higher)
- Anti Confuse ( 58% or higher)
- Anti stun (58% or higher)
But, You need many different accessories.
Vs Karma and Plasma
- Necklace : Resistance
- Earring : Dex
- Rings : Anti Confuse
Vs Poko and Dende
- Necklace : Anti Stun
- Earrings : Props
- Rings - Con
Vs SK
- Necklace : AntiBleed
- Earrings : Prop/CD
- Rings : Anti Bleed
Vs Turtle, Crane
- Necklace : Resistance
- Earrings : Dex
- Rings : Con
Vs Ultima and Chef
- Necklace : Anti Candy/Resistance
- Earrings - Prop/CD
- Rings : Con
Vs DW
-Necklace - Resistance
-Earrings - Prop
-Rings - CC prop
*Weapons are the most important part of gearing up.
You also need a few sets of different weapons.
You need Physical Crit Damage%, Focus, Crit rate and Phyical Damage
Vs Fighters and Swordsmen
Gloves - Focus
Sword - Crit%/Hit rate
Vs Turtles and Cranes
Gloves - Crit Rate/Crit %
Sword - Crit%/Physical Damage
Vs Plasma and Karma
Gloves - Crit Rate/Crit%
Sword - Physical Damage/Crit%
Vs Ultima and Chef
Gloves - Crit rate/Crit%/
Sword - Crit%/Physical Damage
Vs Dende and Poko
Gloves - Crit Rate
Pole - Crit%/Physical Damage
Vs SK and DW
Gloves - Crit rate
Pole - Crit%/Physical Damage
*Now the most important thing is the build. Their are so many ways to make one. Some PvP and some PvE.
PvP - Focus mostly on facing other Players in Party battle or 1v1 action
PvE - Focus mostly on killing mobs in the Environment. Good for TMQ/UD/CCBD.
You have to choose one or the other, Otherwise, You won't do so good
Now a Swordsman needs his MSS, stuns and buffs. I am going to show you a build with the Manditory skills needed in your build in order for it not to be a fail. If your build does not have exactly what i have here you will fail.
SwordsMan Mastery - Each time you upgrade the skill it increases your Focus and Strength by alot which is important. Increases Hit rate - Increases Hit rate with every upgrade Crit Rate - Increases crit rate Evade Up - Increases Dodge Glaring Slash - Debuffs opponents Properties by 30 Energy Recovery - Gives 2 RP balls MSS - best DPS skill which is spammble and has KD ability Roar - Increases Hit rate by 189 and Crit rate 15. Which is great against fighters and Swordies Concentration - Reduces cooldown of skills by 18%, Only one level is necessary Kidney Shot - Stuns oppenent for 7seconds which gives you time to deal as much damage until it expires Quick Attack - A quick headbutt which stuns the opponent for 5 seconds and a long range.
PvE is a big part. It helps you level quicker and be a good party member for TMQs/UD/CC.
Swordsmans lack the PvE skills since they are the PvP class of their race.
I can't post a build because i have no suggestions of one if any one wants to add one pm me to edit.
At Level 70
Dodge :1000 and higher
Hit Rate : 2000 and higher
Dex : 200 and higher
Crit Rate : 60 and over
Dogi Effects. Dogi : Con 10 or higher Hat : Crit% 10% and higher Halo : Dex 10 and higher / Crit rate Backpack : 10 Strength and higher Glasses/Mask : 10 focus and higher / 8 cooldown and Higher

Thanks for your time. I hope i got down to alot of stuff.
Credits to ZLeonZ, HellKaiserRyo, Deucalian, DarkClox for the information they have provided in other threads and told me personally.
Swordsman are good but, not used correctly.
But Remember, "Class doesn't make the player, The player makes the class"
Once the KR changes are implemented into HK/TW you might want to revise it to provide a critical build as well. While S.Roar is still the better overall damage candidiate (imho) some people may want to take the extra points from it and do something else with their build.
Also might want to speak with kiego on a spirit build.

I've been meaning to do that.
Well the crit build is basically there with the passive maxed and dex
I approve. Unsure how the game changed or might change.. I've been gone, but that mostly seems correct.
Ex: Wish for SS first? I'm not sure about that. It may raise some stats, but that's defiantly an EP drainer, and we have low EP as it is. Not sure if any update fixed that... sorry if I'm wrong
