I know there are already guides out there but people are still making threads and asking how to fix this error.

1. Un-install the game and remove the DBO folder.
2. Re-install the game.
3. Open the launcher and wait until the patch hits 0416. The number in the parenthesis is the patch number. Once it finishes 0416 then close the launcher. If it patches all the way to 0419 then go back to step 1 and restart the process. Do not re-open the launcher after it finishes 0416 and you close it!

4. Open your DBO folder and find DBO.exe. If you have extensions hidden then it should just be called DBO. If you can't find it then open the target location of your launcher and you should be able to find the file.
5. Run DBO.exe(Dbo) as admin.

This is tested and it does fix the solution. If it still doesn't work for you then you did something wrong and do it again starting from step 1.

If this doesn't work then you have to wait until Wasabii fixes the problem.

Tested or not, this does not always work. The newest patcher that you can download is the version that you speak of, and without updating it is where you say that it should be. When I do as you request, my computer shuts down and states that it had encountered an error and was forced to reboot. I've played this game before for many..Many hours on an older rig, but now I have a machine with exponentially more power and it will not run. I want to play this game again, but at this rate it's becoming more and more of a hassle.

When I open DBO.exe it opens and goes through gameguard and all that but it doesnt ever open up. It just loads forever.

That sounds like an error more on your computer's side. The game would not cause your computer to crash and restart like that.


That's a little weird, are you sure the patch is on 0416 instead of 0419?

The downloader I received from Wassabi was 0416 when I received it, if I open the launcher it is patching to 0419.

It has to be 0416, not 0419. If you let it patch to 0419 then it won't work.

Best solution for this is to do updates manually with every patch to 1.57.43 with RTP and SimplePatcher DL_Temp

Do not install 1.57.44 RTP because the plant file W8

Thereafter Still DBO.exe launch in Admin
and never open Launcher Wasabii, but only for making future day ........

I am having the same problem as Arylith. The client on the DBO Taiwan website is already at 0416 so I just run it using the steps provided (both DBO.exe and DBO launcher were launched as admin) then the game guard launcher pops up and after a few seconds my laptop crashes and i get an error message and my computer reboots.



Do I have to download an older client and let that update to 0416 or is there something wrong with my laptop?

Me and 2 other friends have Windows 8 and had to do this, we used this link http://dbo.wasabii.com.tw/download/D...26.exe.torrent which required about 3 patches before it was on 0416 and it's working fine for all three of us. You could always try that? :)

Yeah, everyone who I've known that this works on used an older client and let it patch to 0416.
