Hm.. Bulma lived about ~200 years ago. And then she was about 60 :D Didn't you even remember, that there was goku and vegeta jr episode (GT). Then it was something about 1000 (i think). And then there was a bulm'as grangrandaughter (ah. . I don't know english very well :DDDDDD)

Well then it was definitely inspired by GT because the only robot in Dragonball that looks similar to the robot pet is Giru from gt. But you're right because I forgot that dbo is based on the manga.

I'm just saying, even if GT was never made, "small flying robots" isn't something THAT unique that you won't see anywhere else besides Dragon Ball.
