With this tool, you will be able to unpack whatever is inside the .pak file that you want to extract.
It could be sound or texture, but we will be taking care of textures now.
So, to put it simply, this tool can take out files from DBO that you can mod. (For those of you who still don't understand XD)
Once you download the DBO Unpacker Tool - Read Below on how to use it:
Click here to see full text
Place DBO Unpacker in your DBO Folder
(Be Sure to also have DBO Unpacker.txt in the same place as DBOunpacker)
Open up DBO Unpacker.txt and choose to either keep everything the way it is or remove everything and only keep /pack/tex.pak, since you will only be wanting to edit textures. If you keep everything else, it will take a bit longer when you are unpacking all of the .pak files.
Next you will need to run dbo unpacker.exe and then wait for the program to unpack all the .pak that was in the DBO Unpacker.txt file.
When it's done, you will see a newly created folder. This folder is where all the texture files are located.
Lesson 2: Understanding & Using ResourceTool
If you already know how to use ResourceTool then move onto Lesson 3.

The Resource tool was created to make it easier to import and export through .pak files.
Example: You take a texture file and mod it how are you suppose to put it back in the .pak file so it will work in game?. Easy With the ResourceTool.
Click here for a video voice tutorial on how to use it. *The video will teach you how to use the program and also how to overwrite new files to the OG files.

Lesson 1: File Formats & Getting Your Sounds Ready
Click here to see full text
First, you need to know what kind of sounds you're going to replace. There seem to only be 2 formats you need to work with.
Music = .ogg format Voices and other sound effects = .wav format
So, you have your sound files, but you don't know how to convert them to the format you need.
There are several programs that can do this, but I highly recommend Audacity.
While there are others that can get the job done aswell, they might make your sound lose alot of quality (for example, when converting to .ogg, using Format Factory).
With Audacity, not only can you convert formats, you can also edit the sounds to your liking, in many ways. If you want to learn more on how to use it, there are plenty of tutorials out there.
Just search.
Tip: When you're editing .wav files specifically, it might be a bit more user-friendlyto use Wavosaur. It can also convert into .wav, if you need to. Though it all comes down to your own preferences.
Something that you're deffinately going to need for some sound effects (such as flying and auras), is to create loop points. These programs can do that.
Lesson 2: Importing Your Sounds
Click here to see full text
Now, this is pretty easy. All you have to do is open the sound header (sound.pak) with DBO Resource Tool (Check the video tutorial above, on how to mod textures, or at the tool's own thread:http://www.dbocom.com/forum/showthread.php?t=32528
Then, you'll be looking at all the folders. You'll have, for example, bgm (for music), voice (for your character voices and such), system (menu sounds), etc.
Not forgetting to have backed up the original pak files, also backup the original sound files themselves (if you want), to make it easier/faster to revert an action, in case you messed up on a file you don't want overwritten, or something.
As stated before, music is usually in .ogg format and the rest of the sounds as .wav (you should even be able to see the file extensions when browsing through with the resource tool).
So, simply overwrite the sounds with the new ones you want and you're done.
Enjoy!

Should you changed it all sound files, or all sound.pak simply because the fact that it not work even with read only unchecked, the error still occurs gender:
sound4.pak files refuse to put a file in sound.pak
or error in sound0.pak refuse to put her in sound.pak
