DragonBlogZ, your problem is the same as bobthehitler19. The only difference is that your OS eats a LOT MORE ram memory than win7. I suggest you to get a better OS (winxp is the better choice in this case) or get more ram. Also as bobthehitler19, your chipset graphics are the same as mine and your processor is a lot better than my celeron 420 @1.6Ghz. |

"fresh from the oven" is still not good. Windows comes with a lot of services something like 60 services out of the box, about 40 of them are running by default in the background eating RAM and CPU cycles, only about 13 of them are essential for everyday operation including gaming.
Things like fax service, NETMeeting, Indexing, and others that are either never needed by the average user and/or rarely used like the fax service and print spooler. If you were at an office the print spooler would be best to be left on.
There are 3 modes for Windows services, Auto, Manual, and Disabled. Auto starts the service even if it's not needed. Manual summons the service when needed (such as the Removable Storage service for flash drives). Disabled simply disables the service from loading period.
A service tweak can go a long way in increasing overall performance of your PC. Probably the biggest factor in your lag may be your internet connection. How many people share your internet connection? Do you have things downloading while playing? The servers are in Taiwan so that must be quite a jump (or more) for data to travel from server to client especially if they are on the other side of the world and on a different body of land surrounded by a different body of water (no direct connection through lines).

dude i have a pos inspiron laptop and i can play this game ur sure its not your internet connection lol oh and its about 4 years old gonna get a new inspiron desktop soon but that's later lol
and i would like to note that i don't have a lot of the factory stuff on here had my friend delete almost everythign for me its not even a genuine copy of windows anymore cause i don;t let it auto update ps auto updating is bull**** turn it off for everything jus tlook for manual updates for your drivers you get less filler that way lol

I deffinetly hear ya cripp, and i apprciate your time alot! I just still find it a mystery, because i originally started playing this game in May (at that time, my PC was loaded with way to much **** and components i didn't ever use, not even to mention the virus etc) -and for around roughly a week ago it just started to occur. After the re-install of my OS and DBO (which are about the only things i have installed since that)- it just keeps doing it.
The factor about my internet is one i have had on consideration for the whole week, and amongst other things than that, i tried to test it. I have tried this game on around five dirrerent internet settings, stationed around my home city, and all with the same negative result :-s
A minor (might turn out major) -factor is that almost everytime i log into the Netmarble dbo site, i have to pick the opputunity to install some activeX and Netmarble game launcer apps, which i click the install button on, for then to nothing ever happends. (i believe it started some days before the actual lagging experience started to occur frequently) If that turns out to be the problem indeed, do any of you have any solutions for that? (To manually install them or something similar)

You already have a RAM, but unfortunately the memory in it is not enough for gaming. You can get new RAM sticks at stores like newegg, tigerdirect, amazon, etc., just be aware that there are different types of RAM types, and by "googling" your PC model name I found out that your motherboard only supports DRR2 RAM, and up to two 1gb sticks (more than 2 gigabytes won't work, see http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/10...09371sp3.shtml). So if you decide to get a new RAM and keep the operating system (wich is not the best option, but the computer is yours), don't forget, DDR2/1gb each stick is the ONLY way to go.
About the OS, I can give examples. Microsoft's Windows XP, 7 and Vista, Linus Torvalds' Linux and Apple's Mac OS X are the most popular operating systems. Got it? Each operating system has different RAM memory usage. I have windows xp 32bit, wich uses around 450-550mb of RAM memory CONSTANTLY, and considering that I have a 2gb RAM stick, there's always 1550-1450mb left to run other applications, such as games. The peak of Dragon Ball Online's memory usage (wich was in a town, as usual) in my system was 1400mb, but it usually consumes a little more than 1000mb.
In order to improve your gaming experience you can just pick one of the two options, but there will still be some awkward situations where you might experience some unexplainable lag. To run the game without any lag, excluding EXTREME situations (such as walking into a town with only two channels available) I suggest you to pick both options. |
