No one here hides their IP address (or at least the vast majority of us). If it really was because of your IP address and they really were going after foreigners then you'd hear of more people being banned. Also, nothing the English patch does can get you banned if you use it incorrectly.
Did you buy your account, pay to get it upgraded to a full account, or buy any in-game items or zeni using real world money? Did you attempt to upgrade it to a full account yourself? Did you send someone an in-game mail requesting that they give you zeni?
